Richard Eaker
Dr. Eaker has over 32 years of experience with Duke Energy. He is recognized for his industry expertise in PWR secondary chemistry for both OTSG and RSG designs. Dr. Eaker gained significant experience in providing chemistry and materials expertise while providing technical support to Duke Power nuclear facilities. He has experience with a wide variety of plant systems including steam generators, primary, secondary, closed cooling and chemical waste treatment systems. He has provided industry/vendor interface for steam generators, chemistry and radwaste processing, as well as the development and qualification of OTSG chemical cleaning solvent processes. He was involved with the procurement of the McGuire, Catawba, and Oconee replacement steam generators and with the procurement of the Oconee replacement reactor vessel heads. Dr. Eaker holds a B.S in Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a PhD in Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry from Florida State University.
