Projects: SNC Groundwater Protection Initiative

ChemStaff's Mike Nichols reviewed Southern Nuclear's implementation of the Groundwater Protection Initiative programs at Hatch, Farley, and Vogtle against NEI 07-07 and EPRI Groundwater Monitoring guidance. The GPI program monitors and evaluates tritium activity in groundwater, addressing the site conceptual model, site risk assessment, action levels, how on-site ground water monitoring is conducted, and voluntary communications.  The deliverables for this project include a procedure addressing all objectives of the NEI 07-07 guideline and a technical basis describing the site conceptual model, development of action levels, and sampling procedures.
